St Marks

St Marks recieved a number of bids for their sound system. They chose EMI Audio because we could demonstrate, with Bose Modeler and Auditioner, that we could provide them with a good sound system with the least visual impact on their room.

We removed their old speaker system, a large cluster of speakers that was located over the altar area and replaced it with a Bose Panaray Speaker Line Array.

Can you see the speakers?

Read on and we'll show you where they are.

"We've had parishoners stand so close to the speakers that
they could touch them and ask, 'Where are the speakers?'"

To control The volume and provide signal processing for the sound system we used a Bose ControlSpace system.

The main component of the ControlSpace™ system is the DSP chassis, called the ESP-88 processor, which includes 16 audio channels.

Operating the ControlSpace™ ESP-88 is a simple operation. A Bose ControlSpace™ CC-64 control centre operates ControlSpace™ ESP-88 systems of varying complexity by switching audio sources, selecting scenes and changing complex system configurations.

Bose speakers were used for monitors to cover the altar area. All other coverage was provided by the Bose Arrays.

A ControlSpace™ CC-16 zone controller was installed below the monitor. The CC-16 zone controller is designed for a single audio zone. This provides a convenient, cost effective wall panel where simple and powerful control is needed.

You still probably haven't figured out where we put the speakers. The picture on the left gives some perspective of where they are located.

We stacked three Bose MA-12 line array speakers (shown on right) to create a stacked array. We installed one array on either side of the room, just outside of the stone block. We have overexposed the picture on the left to make the arrays more visible.

If you take a look at the picture at the top of this profile you will notice that - even though you now know where the speakers are located - you still can't see them!
